A woman held at the Chillicothe Correction Center died Sunday morning. Sixty-one-year-old Sheila Phillips was serving a six-year sentence following her conviction for voluntary manslaughter, armed criminal action, and tampering with physical evidence from Stone County, and for abandonment of a corpse from Dade County. She had been in prison since March of this year.
Phillips died of apparent natural causes.
