Resurfacing in Chillicothe Begins Monday

The resurfacing on Washington Street through Chillicothe will begin Monday.  MoDOT Contractors will resurface the roadway from US 36 to the end of the four lanes at the north end of Chillicothe, near the prison.  MoDOT Resident Engineer James Gillespie says the resurfacing will be done in a mill and fill process.

The contractor will place temporary pavement markers as they work.

The crews will start with the center lanes and when complete through town, they will move to the outer lanes.  The work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

During the overnight hours, from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am – Monday through Saturday – there will be no parking on the shoulders.  Vehicles parked on Washington Street will be subject to tickets and towing.
