Serious Injury Crash On Route V Monday Morning

An 18-year-old Chillicothe man had serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Route V this morning.  State Troopers report the crash occurred at about 6:30 am on Route V, two miles east of Chillicothe.  According to the report, the 18-year-old man from Chillicothe was southbound on LIV 251 and failed to yield while crossing Route V and was struck on the driver’s side by the westbound vehicle on Route V driven by a 26-year-old man from Chula.

The southbound vehicle ran off the road and struck a utility pole.  The 18-year-old was not wearing a safety belt and was taken by ambulance to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.  The other driver was not injured.

The Missouri Highway Patrol is no longer releasing names of those involved in motor vehicle crashes.
