Several New Laws Took Effect August 28th

The Missouri Highway Patrol says there are several new and updated laws that went into effect on August 28th.  Some of them include:

Enticement of a Child (566.151 RSMo)

The enticement of a child statue has been updated. The age of the victim increased from less than 15 years of age to less than 17 years of age.

Stealing (570.030 RSMo)

Sections related to “organized retail theft” have been added to this statute.

Interference With A First Responder (574.207 RSMo)

Interference with a first responder is a new statute.  This includes:

  1. Impede or interfere with the first responder’s ability to perform his or her legal duty.
  2. Threaten the first responder with physical harm; or
  3. Engage in a course of conduct directed at a first responder which serves no legitimate purpose.

Stunt Driving Prohibited (304.145 RSMo)

Prohibitions against stunt driving and street takeovers are a new statute.
