An extension to the Simpson Park Trail and repairs to the existing trail was presented to the Chillicothe City Council. The total estimated cost of the trail work is $107,700. Brent Turner made the presentation and spoke about the extended trail.

This would be part one of the project. Turner says the long-term goal is to refurbish all the trails in the park.

There is a utility project taking place in the park, and work on the trail would be coordinated with the utility work.
The council approved bidding out the extension, with the work on the existing trail as an alternate or optional part of the bid.
