State Fair Updates DNA Requirements For Sale Of Champions

The Missouri State Fair has updated its DNA requirements for participation in the annual Sale of Champions.  The announcement states, ”Market livestock exhibitors will need to provide DNA hair follicle samples to be eligible for their champion market animals to be sold at the Sale of Champions at the 2026 Missouri State Fair. Nose print and blood samples will no longer be accepted.”

DNA Sample Deadlines include:

  • Market Steers: postmarked by March 15, 2026
  • Market Barrows: postmarked by May 15, 2026
  • Market Lambs and Wether Goats: postmarked by June 15, 2026
