Two Area Beginning Teachers Recognized

Two area beginning teachers are recognized as Missouri’s Outstanding Beginning Teachers at the spring conference of the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE).  The Outstanding Beginning Teacher Awards recognize teachers in their first two years of service who demonstrate excellence in serving children in school districts across Missouri.

McKenna Horton is currently teaching preschool in the Linn County R-I School District.  She is a graduate of North Central Missouri College and Northwest Missouri State University.  The press release states McKenna Horton creates a warm and engaging learning environment where her young learners thrive.

Brooke Horton is a special education teacher in the Chillicothe R-II School District.  Horton is a graduate of North Central Missouri College and Graceland University.  The press release states she approaches each day with compassion, creativity, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported.
