Two Charge After Abandoning Infant At The Courthouse

Two Chillicothe residents were charged with alleged child abuse or neglect following their arrest by Chillicothe Police on Tuesday.  The probable cause statement filed by the Chillicothe Police Department indicated the child was left at the Livingston County Courthouse.  Thirty-seven-year-old Jeremy A. Lamp and thirty-one-year-old Jessica Lamp had been at the courthouse, with the child, for a drug screening.  Jeremy tested clean, but Jessica’s results allegedly came back positive for methamphetamine.

The court officer attempted to set up a safety plan for the child, but it was denied by the couple, who then left the courthouse without the child, leaving no food, clothing, or infant care items.

The couple was later located at Hedrick Medical Center and were arrested.

They were taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center and are held with bond for each set at $10,000 cash only.
