UTV Crash Near Avalon Leaves Three With Serious Injuries

A UTV crash at about 12:30 am Sunday near Avalon left three with serious Injuries.  State Troopers report 39-year-old James R Adams of Hale and his passengers, 34-year-old Dena N Wright of Carrollton and 35-year-old Lindsay E Adams of Hale were injured in the crash that happened when James Adams was westbound on LIV 306, 2.5 miles north of Avalon.  He ran off the right side of the road near a bridge, the UTV became airborne and struck the embankment on the other side of the creekbed.

Adams was arrested for alleged DWI resulting in serious injuries and operating a UTV on a highway.  He was released and flown to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.  His passenger, Dena Wright was flown to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.  Lindsay Adams was taken by ambulance to Liberty Hospital.
