Contractors expect to complete preparation for the resurfacing of US 65 through Chillicothe by the end of the week and the milling and paving will begin soon. MoDOT Resident Engineer James Gillespie says Capital Paving and Construction’s plans include:
Tonight, at Business 36 east side of 65 will be closed from 9:00 pm to Midnight for work; crews will switch to the west side, completing work from Midnight to 3:00 am.
Moving forward…
- Crews will complete curb and entrances at the south end
- Crews will complete curb and entrances at the north end
- Asphalt work is scheduled to begin June 23rd with a mill and fill process.
- The work is expected to start at the south end, at US 36.
- The crews will work on the Center Lanes the entire length to the end of the four lanes.
- When the center lanes are complete, they will work out to the road edges.
- The crews will then work on entrances, turn lanes, and approaches.
- Signal work and pavement markings will be towards the end of the project.
