One hundred thirty-eight calls for service were handled from Friday through Sunday by the Chillicothe Police Department.
Friday:
Officers cited a man for shoplifting on Graves Street and stopped a semi reported to be driving erratically on US 36. They handled a minor private-property crash on Washington Street, investigated a trespassing report on Peacher Street, and checked a report of suspicious activity on Polk Street.
Saturday:
Officers responded to Fairchild Street for a person in crisis and discovered the man deceased; that investigation continues. Later, officers investigated a possible burglary on Paul Street, but the suspect fled before they arrived.
Sunday:
Police responded to a domestic disturbance on Clay Street where no charges were filed. They handled a false commercial alarm, determined another reported burglary on Jackson Street was unfounded, and investigated a report of a vehicle ramming another at US 65 and Harvester—no charges were pursued. Officers also took a report of a man threatening to shoot someone on West Business 36, and a child-abuse concern on Alexander Street was determined to be a medical issue.
