An Extreme Cold Warning is issued for north Missouri, including a few counties in the local area. From midnight tonight to Noon on Friday, the Extreme Cold Warning is issued, including Grundy and Sullivan Counties. This includes dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero expected.
A Cold Weather Advisory is also issued from noon Friday to noon CST Saturday for all of the KCHI listening area, with very cold wind chills as low as 19 below zero expected.
The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
Cover all exposed skin and dress in layers. Mittens are better than gloves, and use a face mask if possible.
