Class 1-3 Sectionals in MSHSAA basketball took place earlier this week. Girls games were played on Monday, and the boys contested Tuesday. Below are results for teams in the local area.
On Monday in the Girls Class 1 Sectionals, Grundy County lost to North Shelby 42-31. Gilman City defeated Norborne 64-29. Gilman City will play Rock Port on Friday at 6 PM at Gallatin High School in the state quarterfinals.
On Tuesday in the Boys Class 1 Sectionals, Braymer beat Princeton 57-29. The Braymer Bobcats will play Faith Christian Academy on Saturday at 1 PM at Chillicothe High School in the state quarterfinals.
Also in the Class 1 Sectional, Brunswick beat Green City 65-46. The Brunswick Wildcats face Northeast (Cairo) in the quarterfinals. That game will take place at Salisbury High School on Saturday at 1 PM.
In Class 2 boys basketball the Penney Hamilton Hornets knocked off Wellington-Napoleon 64-46 in the sectionals. Penney will meet Lincoln at Blue Springs High School on Saturday at 1 PM for a spot in the final four.
