Boys Cross Country Wins Husker Invitational

Hornet Cross Country traveled to Higginsville Tuesday for their first full race of the season. Despite the hot temperatures, everyone had such a great race and times were about 30 seconds faster than where the team started last year. Varsity Boys won their first meet of the season, out of 10 full teams, and middle school boys finished 2nd.

 

Out of 96 runners, the Hornets had 5 boys medalists and even a career personal record.

Luke Thompson – 2nd – 16:51

Cain Evans – 4th – 17:38

Alton Keller – 6th – 18:32

Trace akers – 13th – 19:45

Zeph O’Berry – 15th – 19:58 (Career PR)

 

On the girls side, the Lady Hornets came away with 1 medalist

Yoo Jung Lee – 11th – 23:50

Sophie Hurtgen also ran a career PR, but was 1 spot out of medal range, coming in 21st with a time of 26:09

Indy Ulmer & Adrian Caselman had strong races to start off their season as well.

 

Chillicothe middle school girls and boys also started their season off strong with a 1.5miler.

A few boys brought home some hardware.

Garrett Wheeler – 5th – 10:49

Zain Wahid – 10th – 11:16

 

Both High School & Middle School head to Knob Noster bright & early Saturday morning to tackle the beautiful Knob Noster golf course for hopefully some cooler weather for the Hornets Cross Country team.
