Chillicothe Girls Compete at Marshall Wrestling Invitational

The Chillicothe girls wrestling team competed at the Marshall Invitational, with several athletes earning podium finishes and team points.

At 110 pounds, Hadley Ramsey placed third, recording three falls on her way through the consolation bracket. Ramsey finished the tournament by pinning Kiahna Gross of Marshall in the third-place match.

At 140 pounds, Ayana Johnson also earned a third-place finish. After an early setback, Johnson responded with two major decisions before closing the tournament with a fall over Trinity Gooding of Macon in the third-place match.

Sophie Hurtgen (115) picked up two first-period falls during the tournament, advancing into the consolation semifinals and contributing team points.

At 105 pounds, Riley Jones earned a fall in the consolation rounds to score team points for Chillicothe.

Chillicothe also had competitors Kamri Pearson (145) and Daivy Creason (155) gain valuable varsity tournament experience.
