Chillicothe Girls Wrestling Hosts Chillicothe Tournament

The Chillicothe girls wrestling team hosted the Chillicothe Tournament, with multiple Lady Hornets advancing deep into their brackets and earning key individual wins.

At 105 pounds, Riley Jones recorded two falls to open the tournament, pinning Kendall Foust (Trenton) and Logan Rainey (Marceline), before falling in the third round.

At 110 pounds, Hadley Ramsey put together a strong run through her bracket, earning four victories. Ramsey defeated Lilee Woods (Southern Boone) by major decision, then earned falls over Emma Lowrey (Trenton) and Paityn Ferrell (Kirksville), followed by a medical forfeit win over Raelayn Foster (Marceline).

At 115 pounds, Sophie Hurtgen advanced to the championship, earning a semifinal fall over Dakota Burgener (Marceline) in 19 seconds, then winning the title with a first-place match fall over Skyla Martin (Kirksville) in 40 seconds.

At 140 pounds, Ayana Johnson opened with a fall over Alexis Beeler (Kirksville), moved into the semifinals, then fought through the consolation bracket with a fall over Timberlon Hignutt (Trenton) before finishing in the third-place match.

At 145 pounds, Kamri Pearson competed in a strong bracket, falling in the quarterfinals and consolation round.

At 155 pounds, Daivy Creason gained tournament experience, advancing through the consolation side before being eliminated in the consolation semifinals.
