Chillicothe Lady Hornets Win Savannah Tournament Championship

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets, 3-0 on the season, were looking for their 2nd straight Savannah Tournament championship Friday night facing the host team, the Lady Savages.

 

Savannah hit three first quarter triples and the game was tied 10-10 but the Lady Hornets defense swarmed the Savages the rest of the way. Savannah only managed two 2nd quarter points and Chillicothe was ahead 21-12 at the half.

 

Lyla Beetsma took control on the offensive end for Chillicothe scoring 11 in the 2nd half and 18 for the game. Chillicothe continued to force turnovers and make life difficult for Savannah offensively, resulting in a 40-24 win.

 

The Lady Hornets notch back to back Savannah Tournament championships and improve to 4-0 on the season. Beetsma, Liz Oliver and Lexy Smith were named to the all tournament team.
