Hornet Baseball Beats Leblond For Conference Win

Hornets Baseball Taken Out in Opening Round of Districts

The Chillicothe Hornets baseball team improved to 8-1 on the season and earned their first conference win at home on Thursday. Bishop Leblond scored the intital run of the game in the top of the first but then the Hornets responded with a pair of runs in each the first and 2nd inning, taking control and ultimately pulling away for a 9-2 victory.

 

Howie Donoho recorded two hits, a run and batted one in offensively, while pitching two scoreless innings to close out the game, including one strikeout.

 

Christian Still finished the game with 2 RBIs and pitched the majority of the contest. In 4 innings on the mound, the senior allowed just two hits and one run.

 

Chillicothe is now 8-1 on the season, 1-0 in the Midland Empire Conference and will play another MEC game next, at Benton on Tuesday in a game you can hear on KCHI.
