The Chillicothe Hornets Cross Country team was at the MO-West course for the season opening 2 miler on Tuesday. The Hornets runners compiled a first place individual, 2 medalist, and several PRs.
Out of 145 finishers, Luke Thompson was the overall Boys winner in a time of 10:36.
Sophie Hurtgen was also a medalist, finishing 8th, with a time of 14:28.
Chillicothe had several underclassmen have outstanding races, finishing just out of medal range.
Boys were 4th out of 14 full teams, girls clocking in 6th.
The Hornets Cross Country team heads to Lafayette County for their next race Tuesday.
