Hornets Narrowly Beaten Out for Top Spot at Savannah Tournament

The Chillicothe Hornets put together a strong showing at the Savannah Tournament at Duncan Hills on Thursday, finishing 2nd overall with a team score of 314.

Savannah took home the team title with a 312, narrowly edging out Chillicothe by two strokes. Benton and Maryville each finished tied for 3rd with scores of 326, followed by Bishop LeBlond (331), Rock Port (330), Faith Christian (347), Atchison (355), Mound City (385), East Atchison (389), Lafayette (411), and Penney (413).

Individually, A.J. Warren led the way for Chillicothe with an impressive round of 72 (+1), earning a 2nd-place finish. Jameson Marshall also cracked the top 10, placing 10th with a score of 80 (+9).

Chillicothe’s runner-up finish amongst the dozen team tournament highlights another competitive outing as the team continues its season with a match in Richmond on Monday.
