Hornets Soccer Fires On All Cylinders Vs Savannah

Lady Hornets Soccer Falls in District Semi-Finals to Maryville

The Chillicothe Hornets soccer team hosted the Savannah Savages on Monday night. Savannah struck first with a goal in the 22nd minute by Kris O’Neil. The Hornets bounced back after going down 1-0, 11 minutes later Coy Jones assisted Isaac Bailey to equalize before halftime.

 

In the 2nd half, Magnus Maier scored a pair of goals for Chillicothe in the 52nd and 57th minute and the Hornets prevented the Savages from scoring as Jesse Hughes had 5 saves on the night.

 

Coach Tim Cunningham was proud of his teams performance saying, “this was by far our most complete match of the season. Our attack was able to produce several opportunities and our defense played really well all match against a steady Savannah attack.”
