Hornets Tennis Sending Three to Sectionals After Individual Districts

The Chillicothe Hornets earned a dominant 9-0 sweep over Lafayette in tennis action, taking advantage of a short-handed opponent that fielded just five players.

Chillicothe controlled doubles play over the Fighting Irish. The #1 doubles team of Aaron Snider and Dustin Citron secured an 8-3 win, while Sam Wiebers and Gunner Hawkins cruised to an 8-0 victory at #2 doubles. The #3 doubles match was won by forfeit.

In singles competition, the Hornets displayed strong performances across the board. Aaron Snider led the way with an 8-1 win, followed by Dustin Citron with an 8-3 victory. Sam Wiebers remained perfect on the day with an 8-0 win, while Smith Link added an 8-2 result. Trace Akers also delivered a shutout performance, winning 8-0. Gunner Hawkins picked up a forfeit win in his singles match.

With the sweep, Chillicothe earned their first Midland Empire Conference team victory of the season.
