The Chillicothe Lady Hornets softball team completed their conference portion of the schedule on Monday with a win in St. Joseph against Bishop LeBlond. Chillicothe entered the contest 6-0 in the MEC while LeBlond was looking for their first conference win of the year.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to a big lead very early, scoring 15 runs in the 1st inning and didn’t look back. Chillicothe beat LeBlond 21-0 in 3 innings of play. Hayden Hansen, Tori Stoner, Hope Donoho, Ellie Acree, Molly Kennebeck, Charley Peniston, Dawson Baxter, and Kenzie Fleener each scored multiple runs in the win. Pitching, Donoho, Landry Marsh and Ali Probasco either took an inning in the circle allowing just one hit combined.
The Lady Hornets are 17-5 overall and a perfect 7-0 in the MEC. The Lady Hornets have now won five straight Midland Empire Conference championships under Coach Lee Rucker.
