Lady Hornets Clinical in Win at Trenton

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets were on the road at Trenton Friday night, and made quick work of the Bulldogs. Chillicothe opened up a 16-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. By halftime the margin was 26 for the Lady Hornets.

Chillicothe got it done with smothering half-court defense, forcing 20 turnovers on the night. Chillicothe won the battle inside scoring 15 two-point field goals in the first half with a 33-7 lead at the break.

Trenton managed just another seven points in the 2nd half as Chillicothe received major contributions from Lyla Beetsma, Lydia Bonderer and Emerson Staton who all scored double figures in the game. The Lady Hornets earned their 6th straight win to start the season, and their third of 30 plus points.

Chillicothe will be on the road against fellow unbeaten Oak Grove on Monday.
