The Chillicothe Lady Hornets softball team continued its dominant run Tuesday night, shutting out Maryville 15-0 in four innings at home.
Chillicothe scored twice in the first inning, once in the second and erupted for nine runs in the fourth to finish with 15 runs on 12 hits. The Lady Hornets committed no errors, while Maryville had four errors.
Jordan Foster was dominant in the circle, throwing a perfect four-inning game. Foster allowed no hits or walks while striking out 11 of the 12 batters she faced on 45 pitches, 37 of which were strikes.
Landry Marsh went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, a run and a walk. Kylee Link went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Rylee Davis was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Maddie Robinson added three RBIs, Ellie Acree drove in two runs, and Ashlynn Daugherty scored three times. Abby Marshall scored twice, while Foster and Hope Donoho each added an RBI.
Maryville did not have enough players to field a JV team.
The victory improves Chillicothe to 16-1 overall and 4-0 in MEC play, while extending the Lady Hornets’ winning streak to 16 games. Chillicothe is now just one victory away from matching the school’s softball record of 17 consecutive wins. The Lady Hornets will look to move to 5-0 in conference and match the program all time winning streak Thursday at Benton.
