Lady Hornets Dominate Brookfield in Straight Sets

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets volleyball team continued their strong start to the season Monday night, sweeping Brookfield on the road with a commanding 3-0 varsity victory. The Lady Hornets controlled every set, winning by scores of 25-3, 25-3, 25-3.

Senior hitter Lyla Beetsma once again powered the attack, finishing with 12 kills and 6 digs. Emerson Staton added 8 kills, while Ava Leamer turned in a standout performance with 5 kills, 6 digs, and an impressive 10 serving aces. Setter Carman Woodworth ran the offense efficiently, dishing out 16 assists in the sweep.

The junior varsity squad was equally dominant, rolling to a 2-0 win with set scores of 25-5, 25-3.

With the victory, Chillicothe improved to 3-0 on the season, continuing to showcase balance across all phases — aggressive serving, a quick attack at the net, and steady defense.

The Lady Hornets will look to keep their momentum going in their next matchup later this week when hosting Oak Grove on Thursday.
