The Chillicothe Lady Hornets placed fifth as a team Friday at the 2026 Savage Shootout at Duncan Hills Golf Course, finishing with a team score of 347.
Emerson Brobst led Chillicothe with an 81, placing 14th overall. Brobst shot 39 on the front nine and 42 on the back.
Harper Horsman and Libbie Bonderer each carded an 87 to tie for 22nd. Horsman shot 43-44, while Bonderer posted identical 43-44 rounds.
Piper Guthrie finished with a 92, shooting 46 on each nine, while Danika Harkins rounded out the Chillicothe scoring with a 109.
Savannah captured the team championship with a 292, followed by Maryville at 304, Benton at 331, East Atchison at 332 and Chillicothe at 347. Rock Port finished sixth at 361, followed by Mound City (396), Central (398), Cameron (414), Bishop LeBlond (447), Excelsior Springs (455) and King City (478).
The individual race was extremely close at the top. Savannah’s Zaylin Vega and Maryville’s Halle Zimmerman tied for first at 64, with Vega shooting 31-33 and Zimmerman 32-32. Benton’s Kyndall Hubbard was third at 65.
Savannah placed four golfers among the top 13, with Kyra Albers shooting 74, Rylee Jones 75 and Piper Donahoo 79. Maryville also had Taylor Akon at 76 and Cate Jordan at 79.
The tournament provided a nice launching off point for the Lady Hornets as they begin the 2026 golf season.
