Lady Hornets Golfers Heading To State

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets golf team competed in Class 2 District 4 golf tournament in Lawson on Thursday at Hidden Valley Golf Course. Thirteen schools battled for the top two spots which qualify directly to state.

 

Chillicothe received great scores from Caylee Anderson and Presley Rardon who both medaled inside the top 12 overall and earned all-district honors. Anderson shot an 86, tied for 5th and Rardon scored an 89, good for 11th place. First place overall was Molly McNamara from St. Michael, shooting a 78.

 

McNamara and St. Michael had the best team score at 334 to win the district tournament. Chillicothe was 2nd with a 371 total, which qualifies the Lady Hornets entire team to state! Along with Anderson and Rardon, Chillicothe got crucial scores from Lyla Oesch with a 95 and Gracelynn Barnett’s 101. The Lady Hornets 5th golfer, Ava Lance will also qualify thanks to her 107 district score.

 

It is the first time since 2018 that the Lady Hornets team has qualified for state. Chillicothe will close out their season in the state tournament October 21st and 22nd at Freemont Hills Country Club in Nixa, Missouri.
