Lady Hornets Soccer Picks Up Conference Victory

It was a great night for soccer at Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium. The Chillicothe Lady Hornets hosted the Fighting Irish of Lafayette in an MEC Conference match.

The Lady Hornets continue to show improvement each time they take the field. Chillicothe was able to dictate the pace of play and create multiple opportunities for the offense to come alive. With 3 goals and 1 assist from Sophomore Sophie Hurtgen, 2 goals and 1 assist each from Senior Allie West and Freshman Charlee Hibner, 1 goal from Freshman Ashlynn Daugherty and 3 assists from Junior Hayden Hansen, the Lady Hornets came out victorious 8-0.

The defense held strong with a back line of Freshman Brynley Beemer, Amyah McKinnis, Sophomore Anya Moore and Senior Emerson Stefancik. Sophomore Layla McKinnis kept the goal clean for her first career shutout.

The Lady Hornets are now 1-3 (1-0 MEC) on the season. The next match is Tuesday at St Pius in another conference clash.
