Lady Hornets Start Season With Resounding Win

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets basketball team opened the season with a strong showing at Winnetonka. Chillicothe raced out to a 10-0 start, and never looked back. The Lady Hornets full court pressure turned over the Lady Griffons at a significant rate, which Chillicothe converted to easy baskets on the other end.

Chillicothe was ahead 23-5 at the end of the first quarter, headlined by sophomore point guard Lexy Smith who scored 10 first quarter points and orchestrated the offense throughout the night.

Senior Lyla Beetsma was the leading scorer on the night with 22 points. Beetsma was also a major factor on the defensive end, keeping the pressure ramped up in a game the Lady Hornets won 58-26.
