Lady Hornets Suffer First Loss of Season

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets were on the road at Centralia Friday night. Both the host, Centralia and Chillicothe entered the contest undefeated ready for an early season test.

Early on the Lady Hornets competed well, leading for the majority of the first quarter and entered the 2nd quarter with an 8-7 advantage. The next frame was all the Panthers however. Chillicothe did not score a single field goal as the Panthers smothered Chillicothe.

Entering the 2nd half Chillicothe trailed 22-9 and the Lady Hornets struggled once more to generate offense.m, scoring just 4 points in the 3rd quarter. Centralia guard Ryenn Gordon had no problems on her end, getting into the paint in the half court and in transition. The junior tallied a game high 20 points as Centralia took a 35-13 lead.

The Lady Hornets held their own in the 4th but could not put any pressure on the Panthers falling 45-23. Chillicothe falls to 8-1 on the season heading into their Christmas break.
