Lady Hornets Sweep Trenton on the Road

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets volleyball program kept their hot start rolling Thursday night, sweeping all three levels on the road at Trenton.

Varsity dominated from the first serve, cruising to a 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-8, 25-8, 25-11. The Hornet attack was led by Lyla Beetsma, who hammered down 13 kills and added 8 digs and 4 aces. Emerson Staton turned in a strong all-around performance with 8 kills, 9 digs, and 5 aces, while Ava Leamer chipped in 3 kills and 6 digs. Senior setter Kami Snyder sparked the service line with 3 aces of her own.

The Chillicothe junior varsity prevailed with a convincing 2-0 win (25-16, 25-16), and the C team completed the sweep with a 2-0 victory (25-15, 25-8).

The clean sweep marked another statement night for the Lady Hornets, who opened the season earlier this week with a home win over Lathrop.

Chillicothe returns to action next week looking to build on their unbeaten start.
