The Chillicothe Lady Hornets golf team competed in the MEC golf meet at Fairview Golf Course in St. Joe on Monday and placed first overall as a team. Lady Hornets medalists were Gracelynn Barnett at third place shooting a 92, Presley Rardon with a 99 at seventh, and Caylee Anderson placing ninth with a 103 score. The Lady Hornets as a team totaled 399, 10 strokes better than runner-up Benton, while Maryville and Savannah tied for 3rd with a 429. Individually, Alayna Pargas of Maryville had the best round at Fairview, shooting an 85, Emma Loehnig of Benton was 2nd with an 88 and Cameron’s Jaylee Cruickshank tied Barnett for 3rd. The Lady Hornets are conference champions for the first time since 2021.
