As the rain cleared away on Wednesday afternoon, the CHS girls tennis team was able to fit in their match-up with the Lady Savages of Savannah. However, the Hornets lineup was quite mixed up due to the absence of senior starter and state medalist Lydia Bonderer. Therefore, two of the three doubles partnerships were brand new pairings as well as four singles players competing a spot higher than normal. Savannah proved tough competition with their long rallies and good serving. Chillicothe lost 2-7 on the night. The bright spots of the evening were junior #1 Lexy Smith partnering with sophomore #2 Isabel Nagel for the first time and beating a strong #1 doubles team from Savannah with a returning state qualifier as well. Also, senior Anya Moore played a great match on the #3 court, out-rallying her opponent in a very long match. The Lady Hornets move to 2-1 overall on the season as a team as individual tournament results don’t count within team results. Results were as follows:
