The Chillicothe Mudcats fall hard against the Clarinda A’s on the road Tuesday evening.
The A’s took a first inning lead en route to their no-doubt victory. After the Mudcats issued two free passes and committed an error, Parker McNeal crushed a Grand Slam over the right field wall to give the A’s a 4-0 lead right off the bat.
In the fourth, the A’s added a crooked number to their already four run lead.
Grant Lokken smacked a two-RBI single to begin the scoring for Clarinda in the inning. That brought home Andrew Young and Parker McNeal to make it 6-0. Lokken would then score to make it 7-0 on a Sean Bazmore fielder’s choice. Bazmore would also then come around to score, he crossed the plate on a Theo Anderson base hit, that made it 8-0. The exclamation point of the inning was a Brayden Olsen two-RBI double which scored Cooper Knight and Theo Anderson. 10-0 Clarinda after four innings.
The A’s tallied another in the fifth. A Cooper Eberly sacrifice fly scored Grant Lokken to make it 11-0 A’s.
The Mudcats did get a run in the top of the sixth inning. Nick Blakeney scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 11-1.
However, that would be the final score in seven innings on Tuesday evening. The Mudcats get run-ruled by Clarinda for the third time this season.
The Mudcats fall to 12-21 on the season ahead of their scheduled off day on Wednesday.
The Mudcats are back in action on Thursday evening against the Joplin Jailbirds in the first of a three-game series on the road to close out the regular season. First pitch on Thursday is at 6:30 p.m.
