The Lady Hornets soccer team traveled to Kansas City on Tuesday evening to take on conference foe St. Pius.
The Lady Hornets defense came out strong and held the Lady Warrior attack scoreless for the first 25 minutes of the match. St. Pius would put pressure on the Lady Hornets but a solid, cohesive defensive effort and outstanding goalkeeping kept them at bay. In the 25th minute of the 1st half St. Pius was able to break the wall and get on the scoreboard. At half, the Lady Warriors led the Lady Hornets 3-0.
A strong second half showing would allow the Lady Warriors to pull away for the 8-0 victory.
In the JV Match the Lady Warriors would best Chillicothe 8-0.
The Lady Hornets next match is Friday in Sedalia vs. Sacred Heart at 5 pm. The Lady Hornets are now 1-4 on the season (1-1 MEC record).
