The Chillicothe Hornets track and field team was one of 18 teams in the large Mineral Water Classic hosted by Excelsior Springs on Friday.
On the girls side, the Lady Hornets night was highlighted by Tori Stoner taking first place in the javelin throw, at 36.08 meters.
For the boys, the Hornets 4 x 400 relay team placed first with a final time of 3:29. Cain Evans also took home the gold in the 1600, running a 4:31.
The other top 3 finishes for Chillicothe at the meet were Evans placing 2nd in the 800. Brennan Fitzpatrick and Luke Thompson running 2nd and 3rd in the 400, Eli Hall runner-up in long jump while Landon Longo was 3rd in the 110 hurdles, Trent Menconi was third in javelin and Fitzpatrick placed 3rd in triple jump.
