A two-vehicle crash near Utica Friday afternoon took the life of an Overland Park man and left a Chillicothe man with serious injuries. State Troopers report at about 2:20 pm, a westbound semi driven by a 70-year-old Chillicothe man had slowed to make a turn and was struck from behind by a westbound car driven by a 44-year-old man from Overland Park.
The 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:37 pm.
The truck driver was taken to Cameron Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
The Highway Patrol is no longer releasing names of those involved in traffic crashes.
