The Green City Lady Gophers had an unstoppable one-two offensive punch and beat the Tina Avalon Lady Dragons 61-37 in a Class 1 State Sectional Basketball game at Chillicothe.
Green City led 22-11 after the first quarter and cruised to the win. 6’1″ Junior Brooke Littrell led Green City with 31 points and 5’7″ Junior Delaney Embree had 16. Only two other Green City players scored in the game.
Tina-Avalon was led by Hannah Colliver with 13 points and Samantha Rounkles with 9, Morgan Brockmeier with 6, Haley Rucker with 4, Khloey Forst with 3 and Sydney Brice with 2 pints.
Green City advances to the Quarterfinals to meet Community at 24-2 on Saturday at 2:45pm at Salisbury.
