Halloween: Rules For Sex Offenders

While Halloween is a fun time for kids and adults, there are some who are expected to follow specific rules for this holiday.

Sexual offenders in the State of Missouri have been informed of the Halloween rules that include:

  • Avoiding all Halloween-related contact with children;
  • Remain inside their home between 5:00 and 10:30 pm, unless required to be elsewhere;
  • Must post a sign at their home stating, “No candy or treats at this residence”; and
  • Leave all outside residential lighting off during the evening hours after 5:00 pm

Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox says his deputies and the local police do compliance checks.
