Equipment Bid For Police Cars Approved

The Chillicothe city council approved the purchase and installation of the equipment for the five new police cars that should arrive in the spring.  City Administrator Darin Chappell says the council approved spending up to $54,458 on the items and labor.  He says much of this is specialty equipment.

Some of the equipment includes light bars and brackets, the radio and computer console that goes between the seats, the cage to separate the front and back portions of the vehicle and the decals that are put on the outside.

The vendor will attempt to re-use some of the equipment from the cars that are being replaced, but much of the equipment will be new.
