A Brookfield man will appear in court Monday to face charges on Felony Stealing and two counts of Felony Deceptive Business Practices.
Daniel Joseph Gaunt of Brookfield will be arraigned Monday at 9:00am in Randolph County Court in Huntsville. Gaunt is charged with Felony Stealing $750 or more, and two counts of Felony Deceptive Business Practice.
The charges stem from a contract between his business, JD Contracting and the Renick R-IV school district.
Gaunt’s business was contracted for more than $14,000 in work for the Renick Board of Education.
Allegedly the first $5,000 payment was issued January 17th and Gaunt reportedly claimed on February 14th a second payment had not been received.
The work allegedly was not completed by the March 1st date, promised by the company.
