Livingston County Sheriff’s Department Incidents

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reported several incidents from late June and early July.

June 25th, deputies completed an animal abuse/neglect investigation.  The department received assistance from the State Vet and Livingston County Humane Society. During the investigation, 4 horses were examined by the Vet and information was submitted to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges. The 4 horses have since been removed from the location they were found.

July 2nd, deputies began an investigation of property damage at a property in southern Livingston County.

July 3rd, deputies had to gain entry into a home in southern Livingston County due to circumstances and concerns for an elderly man who needed urgent help. Neighbors had been attempting to contact the man for 2 days and were concerned for his well-being.  The man was found to be sleeping and was very hard of hearing.

July 7th the LCSO began an investigation of theft from a property on Liv 233. The resident had recently passed away and an unknown person had stolen at least a wooden yard cart, weedeater, and chainsaw. The investigation continues.

Deputies also checked on two individuals thought to be suicidal.  Assistance was offered.
