The Chillicothe R-II School Board voted to seek an increase in the district’s tax levy. Superintendent Dan Wiebers says the increase is to stop the deficit spending and get the district in better financial standing.
He says they plan to have public meetings and explain the need for the increase.
He says the increase would reverse the problem with taking from their reserves.
The board plans to begin having meetings and helping the residents of the district to understand the need after the first of January.
