The Chillicothe Girls Softball team has advanced to the District finals with a 12-2 win over Marshall at the District tournament at Moberly.
Chillicothe scored five runs in the bottom of the first and second innings to build a big lead. The game was halted after the fifth inning due to the ten run rule.
Halle Rucker pitched the five innings, allowing two earned runs off four hits with no walks and three strike outs.
Coach Mike Jones said Rucker pitched a great game and the team played great in all facets of the game with lots of energy, hitting the ball and running the bases.
Chillicothe was led by Sophia Luetticke with three singles, Kennedy Corzette with two doubles, Mike Hibner with a double and two singles, and Jordan Hibner, Abby Jones and Mollie Ellis each with a single
Corzette also had four RBI.
Chillicothe plays Kirksville today (the 17th) at Moberly for the district championship.
