A Gillman City woman had serious injuries in an accident with a semi Friday afternoon on Highway 6 near Highway 13 in Daviess County. The report states 41-year-old Angela Whitlock of Gilman City was eastbound on Highway 6 and attempted to pass a semi driven by 17-year-old Wyatt Brewer of Jamesport, on the right side of the truck. Wyatt was attempting to make a right turn and was struck by the car as it made the pass.
Whitlock was taken to Cameron Regional Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. She was also arrested for alleged DWI, driving while suspended and careless and imprudent driving. She was released for treatment.
Brewer was not injured.
