The Chillicothe R-II School Board Election is coming up in April, there are three seats, and so far only two candidates. There is still time for someone to file, but what happens at election time will depend on how many candidates have registered to put there name on the ballot. Superintendent Dan Wiebers says, with three open seats we should have at least three candidates.
With more than three candidates, the voters in the school district will vote to fill the seats. In the Chillicothe School District, that means the three candidates with the highest votes fill the available seats.
If there are three candidates, there is no election.
If there are only two that file, there is still no election, AND the board takes action to fill the opening.
Filing for the April Election remains open through 5:00 pm on January 21st. You can file at the district office. For information, call 646-4566.
