The USDA announced $61 million dollars to expand the availability of broadband to rural areas across the state of Missouri. USDA Under Secretary for Rural Development DJ LaVoy and Missouri Governor Mike Parson were on hand for the announcement that was made at the Barton Farm Campus in Trenton. LaVoy says Broadband will open doors for farmers, businesses and families.
Governor Parson congratulated the grant award recipients, who will be installing broadband fiberoptic in their service areas.
One of the recipients is Green Hills Communication. Their General Manager, David Adams talked about the plans in the Green Hills Service Territory.
In Grundy County, Mid-States Services will install 110 miles of Fiberoptic in the rural areas that have little or no connectivity to high-speed internet.
