City of Chillicothe employees now officially have the option of opting out of the city’s health insurance plan. City Administrator Darin Chappell says the city has been working to refine the policy over the past several weeks, and on Monday night they approved the ordinance that puts the policy in place.
Chappell says the policy does not allow an employee to switch to Medicare or Tri-Care.
He says the employee must show proof of insurance coverage, and maintain that coverage, or they are not eligible to OPT OUT of the city health insurance program.
