The Chillicothe Police Department report for Wednesday includes 82 calls for service.
2:33 am, Officers were called to the area of JF Kennedy Ave. and Elm Street in reference to smoke reported in the area. Officers located a pile of leaves on the sidewalk that had been on fire and was smoldering. Water was used to put the fire out. They were called back to the same location about an hour later as the fire had rekindled.
9:29 am, Officers performed a COVID 19 restriction compliance check at a local business on W. Business 36 Highway. Everything found to be in-check.
9:49 am, Officers took a report of a disturbance regarding threats being made toward a resident by a subject in the 1700 block of Morningside Drive. The incident occurred in the residence on 04/06/2020. Investigation continuing.
1:12 pm, Officers out in the 600 block of W. Business 36 Highway on theft investigation.
4:59 pm Officers responded to the 600 block of N. Washington Street where the wind had blown the awning down in front of a business. The owner of the building was notified of the issue and taking care of it.
7:24 pm, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Calhoun Street. It was determined that there was a situation where the couple were separating and there is an issue over property. Nothing physical had occurred and no arrests were made.
8:01 pm, Officers were called to the 10 block of Jackson Street for an assault between two men. The officers learned they were in a heated argument over a mutual acquaintance. Both subjects were issued summonses for disorderly conduct and given a court date.
8:54 pm, Officers responded to a business in the 400 block of S. Washington Street for a possibly intoxicated driver. A 39-year-old from Chillicothe was showing signs of intoxication when requested to perform sobriety tests. They were taken into custody for DWI and possession of a controlled substance & paraphernalia.
